  • Solar Systems for Navajo Elders

    In January,Eagle Energy installed solar systems in the homes of Navajo elders with the help of community health representatives/public health nurses and Forgotten People, our partner organization. Thanks to Grand Canyon Trust and Tucson Electric Power, over 100 additional small-scale solar lights and larger solar systems will be installed in the homes of elders in the former Bennett Freeze Area, where for 40 years they were prevented from having electricity by federal and tribal law.

From establishing Elephant Energy's first shop in Namibia in 2010, to managing our latest grants from Energy and Environment Partnership (EEP) for Southern Africa and from the Helen L. Franklin Trust, Katie has also become involved in developing sustainable distribution networks on the Navajo Nation for Eagle Energy.
